CHANDLERY RETAIL ASSISTANT

To assist the Chandlery Manager in the day to day running of the stores and counter operations.

Hours of work: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Weekend rota 1 weekend in 5

Assist in the day-to-day running on the Chandlery counter operation, allocation to AQM engineers and sale of parts, consumable goods and chandlery items to the general public, assist with stock control, ordering and restocking of the chandlery.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ordering stock items and booking onto Kudos system

Booking out counter goods to the public through the cash till and debit/credit card system

Operation of efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the chandlery with the objective of ensuring continuity of supply for both business and customer requirements.

Ensuring that parts are received and checked according to all delivery note paperwork and stored in the correct stock location in accordance with the store’s layout.

Ensuring that operational parts are book out to the correct task ID and job name.

Cleaning work areas and facing off store’s location parts and bins on a regular basis and ensuring that that all tools and equipment are kept clean and in good working order.

Maintaining full and accurate records of all transactions on the Kudos system referring to all customer transactions, gas, fuel and electric included.

Cashing up and reconciling credit card receipts daily, printing related reports and issuing of monies to the designated AQM manager or person(s) deemed responsible.

Undertaking any other reasonable duties within the framework of the role as directed by the Chandlery Manager.

Assisting as required with cycle counting and adjusting of stock to keep the integrity of all stock held to an acceptable audit ready level as agreed by the Chandlery manager to fall in line with all annual KPI’S agreed.

Providing cover to the Chandlery assistant for annual leave/sickness.

YARD OPERATIVE

A Placement available for Sandwich placement year Student at Aqueduct Marina Church Minshull as a Marina Boat Yard Operative.

Aqueduct Marina and Boatyard is an award-winning 150 berth inland marina with 60 boat storage yard, 10 workshops and circa 30 people working across the Marina, Café, caravan site, Boat sales, Chandlery, and boatyard.

You will be working as part of a busy team of 12 people across all the areas of the Boatyard department, assisting the boat moving yard team, marine engineers, fabrication team, boat painting and Chandlery shop as the workload requires.

You will gain a broad range of knowledge and skills about diesel engines, heating and electrical systems in boats as well as welding, stores and the use of IT systems that support the operation of the yard. As a busy yard, you will also learn team working and the ability to think for yourself and problem solve.

All necessary PPE, tools and overalls will be provided, you will have a mentor and line manager to oversee your safety and wellbeing.

The role will involve working outdoors, and around water in all weather.

The normal hours are 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday with a 1hr lunch break, with some weekend working required as the workload and season require.

Rate of Pay is the national minimum wage for the first 3 months increasing by 5% after a successful 3-month appraisal.

BUSINESS OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE

A Placement available for Sandwich placement year Student at Aqueduct Marina Church Minshull as a Business Operations executive.

Aqueduct Marina and Boatyard is an award-winning 150 berth inland marina with 60 boat storage yard, 10 workshops and circa 30 people working across the Marina, Café, caravan site, Boat sales, Chandlery, and boatyard.

You will be working as an assistant to the Marina Operations Director who has day-to-day control of the business activities. He has 7 managers who report to him, (Boatyard, Chandlery, Brokerage, Sales, Facilities, accounts, Projects.)

As part of a busy marina team with 30 people working across all the areas of the business, you will gain a broad range of business knowledge and skills, from operations and processes, sales and marketing, accounting, HR.

You will also be expected to work in all the areas of the business to help cover holidays and assist as the workload increases in differing parts of the business over the year.

As a busy marine business, you will also learn team working and the ability to think for yourself and problem solve.

All necessary PPE, and outdoor clothing will be provided, you will have a mentor and line manager to oversee your safety and wellbeing.

The role will involve working outdoors, and around water in all weather.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Responsibilities:

Mechanical Engineering (diesel engine servicing, diagnostics etc)

Providing general maintenance services (winterising, plumbing, diesel heating systems etc.)

General welding and fabrication (anodes, small-scale fabrication tasks etc.)

Some site maintenance

Boat movements

Assisting other departments with scheduled tasks

Desirable Skills:

230 V and 12 V electrics knowledge

Webasto and Eberspaecher knowledge

FLT licence

Abrasive wheels training

BROKERAGE MANAGER

General Duties: Whilst maintaining supportive team relationships for the overall good of the P+L you will, in line with relevant service level agreements, optimise the Brokerage Department.

Role requirements:

Responsible for getting enough vendors signed up to the Brokerage to hit/exceed budgeted commission income figures

Delivery of Brokerage sales including administrational tasks such as production of brokerage information sheets, videos and pictures, performing to KPI’s set by the board

Develop of Brokerage sales processes and utilisation of current systems including Act. This includes the development of the sales funnel process i.e. taking a customer from enquiry to sale

Develop Brokerage products, services and income streams, new sales, B2B relationship with suppliers and manufacturer within the industry.

Communicate proactively to existing and potential customers by providing information on Brokerage products and services.

Optimise sales and brand awareness at events and exhibitions to promote the business’ activities.

Accountable for the timely processing of payments relating to such things as deposits for purchases

ProvidE marketing with all relevant information for them to actively promote Brokerage services

Be an active and engaged member of the team, working together to proactively solve issues and provide solutions that ensure the marina is constantly working to achieve its goals and targets (quarterly rocks, yearly goals and 3-year targets)

Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the customers/company relationship

Prepare monthly Brokerage sales reports as directed by the Marina and Operations Director

SALES ASSISTANT

Responsibilities: 

Dealing with telephone, email and face to face enquiries

Booking in customers

Selling additional items and services

Processing payments/cash handling

Liaising with internal departments

You will need to demonstrate:

Excellent communication skills

Computer literacy

Confident in selling options to clients

Would suit candidates with experience in car dealerships, leisure or travel industry

YARD OPERATIVE

CAFE ASSISTANT (Weekends)

Responsibilities: 

Serving customers

Preparing and serving drinks, cakes, paninis etc.

Clearing tables & washing up

Some days responsible for cashing up.

Experience preferable but training will be given.
