Esperance is an unusual and rather rare narrow beam launch; built originally by Sagar Marine in 1985 as a replica of “Water Witch” the 1915 Leeds & Liverpool Inspection launch. Only a few of these striking boats were ever produced.

Both above and below the water Sagar have produced a boat with a wonderful shape; the hull has a beautifully long swim with yacht like curves whilst the cabin features around 16 large double glazed windows between each of which is an ornate cornice formed into the steelwork beneath the roof line. The bow offers a vast covered seating area, ideal for leisurely inspecting the canal or river.

Internally Esperance offers a forward living area, galley, bathroom and bedroom. The cabin is flooded by light through the large windows. Conventional in many ways this ends aft where you will find an offset Beta Marine 62hp engine with hydraulic transfer and controls for the hydraulic bowthruster.

Equipped with the aforementioned powerful engine and bowthruster system Esperance is equally attuned to a river environment as it is to the canals such as the Leeds & Liverpool where this original design of inspection launch was placed in service. Also fitted with a large 2.5Kw inverter and two sources of heating the cabin is a comfortable and practical space all year round.

Overall this is an elegant and practical boat capable of performing across both canals and rivers without compromise. Guaranteed to attract some attention when you’re out be prepared to accept compliments as you cruise!
