This year we are changing up a gear and providing you with a One-Stop boating experience never experienced at Aqueduct Marina before.
The marina will be open from 10.00am until 10.00pm, showcasing our new painting environments, revamped chandlery and extensive engineering operation.
In workshop 7 you will be able to check out the restoration work of a C&RT workboat which is being completed on site. Not only will you be able to view these special workboats in progress but also you will be able to find out more about the welding process and what is involved when a boat is fabricated with our welding and fabrication professionals Will and Scott. You will be able to gather information on C&RT’s purpose and why they are so important to the canal network! Alongside this in workshop 6 Peter Tindall the Boat Surveyor, Russ Smith the Boat Safety Scheme Examiner and Keith Meadowcroft from Volt master will be there to give you boaters as much information and advice as possible!
A selection of New and Used boats will be on sale including our onsite bespoke boat builders Knights Narrowboats who will be showcasing three of their previous builds including Two Jays, Waving Flags and their most recent build Mary D’s. Aintree Boats ‘Fab-Four’ Beetle range will also be on display including the delightful 30ft Beetle ‘Woodfalls’ courtesy of news owners Mr and Mrs Mitchell.
Workshops 10,11 and 12 will also be open showcasing several of our most recent painting projects including narrowboat ‘Rosetta’. To guide you through the process our Boat Yard Operative Alex and Grit-Blaster Paul Taylor will be on hand.
A selection of our painting boats will also be available in the marina to view including: Another Fluke, Cheshire Star and Emen’s Friend with our painting professional Johnny available to answer any of your questions.
We will also be extending our 50% OFF offer on HEMPEL PAINT until 5pm on Saturday so make sure you grab those paint tins quickly! We will also be offering a special ‘BARGIN BIN’ so make sure you have a rummage!
Alongside the Chandlery Kev Taylor from Seddon Plant will have a stand showing rubber compound demonstrations as well as the Boat Cover Repair Guys showing some of the work they have done on Cratch Covers and giving out exciting information on what they do.
Also to make an appearance will be Ron Westhead from Wurth Comsumables providing a selection of advice on worth cutting blades.
LIVE sign-writing demonstrations will also be completed by the incredibly talented sign-writer and decorator Robin Wagg so make sure you take a look!
We are thrilled to announce that Promarine Finance and GJW Direct are two more exhibitors that will be attending our Open Event. GJW Direct will be available for hands on advice when it comes to insuring your narrow-boat and Promarine Finance are available to give you excellent guidance on Boat Finance! Further detail will be released for what these two exhibitors have in store nearer the time, as well as many more exhibitors yet to be announced!
On our yard we will also be welcoming the Green Watch Fire Crew from the Crew Fire Station providing fire safety advice and how best to prevent your boat from the hazard of fire.
Want to know when you can next go cruising to Middlewich and beyond? C&RT are exhibiting at this event to give everyone further updates on the breach, Next to there stand they will be accompanied by SUMBA and STTV who will be ready to give you further volunteering knowledge!
Two friendly faces from the Shropshire Union Canal Society, Gill and Clive will also be here providing details of their exciting restorations, work parties and fundraising activities. They will also be offering membership sign ups!

Refreshments will also be available throughout the day from the Galley Café, with a mixture of specials, light lunches, snacks and cakes for you to enjoy so when you are ready to take a break and put your feet up enjoy some tasty food and drink served by Holly and her team. For your entertainment also we will be offering a prize raffle, tickets of which will be available to purchase from the main marquee throughout the day, with all donations going towards our charity of the year Kidney Research UK so make sure you grab your ticket early!
